The Humane Society of the United States has teamed up with Microsoft to be a part of i'm™, a new initiative from Windows Live Messenger and now, Windows Live Hotmail! Each time you send a message using Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live Hotmail, Microsoft shares a portion of the program's advertising revenue with some of the world's most effective organizations dedicated to social causes, including The Humane Society of the United States. All you have to do is sign up! The i'm™ Initiative is an easy way to support The HSUS and help animals by doing something you do every day—and without spending a dime out of your own pocket! The Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Hotmail are both free and there is NO cost to you. You can also download buttons and banners for your MySpace or other social networking page, website, or blog to show that you are participating in the program to help save animals. Chimps Deserve Better Ringtones and Screensavers Approximately 1,300 chimpanzees—many who were captured from the wild, used by the entertainment industry, and kept as pets—currently live in nine biomedical research and testing laboratories around the United States. Dissection Campaign Packet The HSUS has created a Dissection Campaign Packet for students who want to inform teachers, students, and other members of the public about the dissection issue and about the need to replace the practice of killing and cutting up animals for education with effective, humane alternatives. A few of the things included are: Click here for a complete list of materials in the packet. These materials will assist you whether you are working on your own or with others in mounting a campaign to either 1) replace dissection with humane alternatives at your school, or 2) enact policies granting students the right to choose humane alternatives to dissection. They will also help you to raise public awareness about the problems with killing animals for education.
